Acceptable Use Policy

Effective November 3, 2026 · Version 2026-11-03

Wilco answers people who contact your business. Don’t use it for outreach or spam, emergencies, health records or anything unlawful, and don’t try to break it.

1. Purpose

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to every business that uses Wilco and to everyone who uses the Service through a business’s account. Wilco is a receptionist: it answers people who contact your business. These rules keep it that way and protect your customers, the phone network and other Wilco customers.

2. Inbound, customer-initiated communication only

Use Wilco to respond to people who contact your business, and to notify your own staff. You must not use it to:

  • send marketing, promotional or bulk messages, or contact anyone who has not first contacted your business;
  • place outbound calls, robocalls or calls using artificial or pre-recorded voices to the public;
  • keep messaging anyone who has opted out, or interfere with STOP, START or HELP handling;
  • spoof or misrepresent caller identity or the sender of a message;
  • send content prohibited by carriers, including content about sex, hate, alcohol, firearms or tobacco (“SHAFT”), cannabis, high-risk lending, debt collection, gambling, or third-party lead generation.

3. Prohibited uses

You must not use the Service, or let it be used, to:

  • break any law, or help anyone else break it;
  • deceive people, including by having the receptionist claim to be a human when sincerely asked, impersonating another person or business, or making false claims about your products or services;
  • harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone;
  • collect information you have no lawful basis or consent to collect, or collect information from children under 13;
  • infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • distribute malware or phishing, or collect passwords or payment details under false pretences.

4. High-risk and sensitive uses

The Service is not designed for, and must not be used for:

  • emergencies, crisis lines, or any situation where a delay or failure could cause injury, death or property damage;
  • medical, dental, mental-health, legal or financial advice, triage or diagnosis;
  • decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on people, such as credit, employment, housing or insurance decisions.

Do not configure the receptionist to ask for, and tell your customers not to send through it:

  • payment card numbers, bank details, passwords or government identification numbers (such as social insurance or social security numbers);
  • clinical details, diagnoses, treatment information or other sensitive health information. HIPAA covered entities and business associates must not use the Service for protected health information at all (see the Terms).

5. Protecting the Service

You must not:

  • probe, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities, or bypass security, rate limits, spending caps or plan limits, without our written permission;
  • attack the AI with prompt injection or attempts to make it reveal other customers’ information, its instructions or its configuration;
  • scrape, copy or reverse engineer the Service, or use it to build a competing product;
  • overload the Service, or use automated traffic to generate usage;
  • share accounts, resell the Service, or let anyone outside your business use your account, unless we agree in writing.

6. Enforcement and reporting

We may investigate suspected violations and remove content, pause channels, reclaim phone numbers, suspend or close accounts, and cooperate with carriers and authorities, as described in the Terms. To report abuse, including messages or calls from a Wilco number you did not ask for, email contact@getwilco.app.
